Valencia City; the region’s capital, is famed for its nightlife, the wild Las Fallas spring festival and the stunning architecture of its Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Whilst you are shopping, remember the siesta hours between 2:00 and 4:30 pm. Most shops close during these hours, so you and your credit card can take a rest. Check out the nightlife around El Carmen, things don’t really get hopping until the wee hours of the morning, with many clubs staying open until 7:30am. Valencia city, celebrates each year the final days of the winter and the arrival of spring with spectacular fires and pyrotechnics. From March 15 to 19, Valencia becomes a carnival of parades, fireworks and celebrations. Parades of Ninots; giant paper mache satirical figures of politicians, TV, movie and sports stars are brought through the streets and tower above the crowds.
